About Us
There are adult themes in some classes with some cussing in order to explain the difference between a properly formed sign & its 'dirty' counterpart when a sign is formed incorrectly. If cussing or straight forward discussions are a problem for you, I may not be the teacher for you. I use humor & love to teach & correct & to make sure my students enjoy the process of learning.
There are outside requirements like practicing & once you're in a few classes, class group chats to work on what you're learning & get important interaction time to utilize your skills. ASL is not 'easy' to learn & I include a lot of Deaf Culture & teach appropriate behavior in the Deaf Community and using ASL.
I suggest all potential students thoroughly read the blogs on this website before committing to a desire to take class with me. I'm very blunt & straightforward & I teach a lot of content that requires students to practice & memorize and put what they're learning to use. I also teach a lot about Deaf Culture and audism, appropriate use and how to interact with Deaf people using ASL.
ClubASL Class Info
A new beginner class will begin September 3, 2025 on Wednesday evenings at 6-7:30 pm EST. Announcements will be made on these 2 FB pages: ClubASL Facebook page and Dr Delora's page Classes are limited to 15 students max to assure quality & individual attention and are geared towards adults.
